Former coach of Tornado KM Giedrius Žibėnas shared his experience with his colleagues
April 8th, 2019 former coach of „Tornado“ basketball school Giedrius Žibėnas visited his colleagues.
Last season (2018 – 2019) G. Žibėnas bacame a champion with Jakarta's Stapac in Indonesia. Before start working with Men’s teams, G. Žibėnas has worked at “Tornado” BS for 11 years and coached various age groups. For his former colleagues – coaches of our school, he organized an open practice to share the training structure used during the season. Later showed exercises suitable for each part of the practice.
An experienced strategist said that only hard and focused day-to-day work yields results. He advised to ask players not to do exercise but to try to play basketball in each exercise in accordance with pre-established rules. He also advised not to be afraid to do the same exercises or even repeat the same workout several times. "The coach must not surprise players with the abundance of exercises, he must not try to do interesting and varied training for the players, but try to train the players,"- emphasized G. Žibėnas. - "Repetitive exercises make it easier for players, they know what coach need and can do it to the maximum."
"It was great to see a well-known coach in action again," – sadi coach of “Tornado” BS Modestas Gailiūnas. – “Everywhere details, details, accent, clear plan and uncompromising adherence of this plan. These are characteristic that push coach forward. It was nice to see practice by Giedrius again. Aslo, I liked his idea, that some excercises, as left hand improving, basketball player standing can be done before practice by giving 5 – 10 minutes”.

Our school is always emphasizing the need to pay extra attention to the coaches' knowledge and refinement, and, of course, we are excited for every coach who achieves the highest goals.”
